Today, we’re catching up with Alyssa Ramirez – a very talented member of our Personal Shopper team. She’s been styling for over five years, and loves making people feel confident and amazing in their clothes. Her favorite brands? Talulah, IRO, and Lavender Brown. We caught up with her to get to know more about her passion for styling, wardrobe essentials, and more.
Rue La La: How do you describe your personal style?
Alyssa Ramirez: Boho-casual with some feminine flair!
RLL: Which fall trend are you most excited to try?
AR: Feathers! I love to incorporate texture, and feathers are such a fun way to do it.
RLL: What’s one piece you think everyone needs in their closet?
AR: An amazing leather jacket. I have one I bought eight years ago, and it’s the best investment I have!
RLL: Tell us about your career. How long have you been styling?
AR: I went to school for fashion merchandising and immediately went into visual merchandising after college. I spent my early career within this area of styling – five years with Ted Baker, Nordstrom, and Hugo Boss. After that, I went on to styling and managing styling teams and have been doing that for the past four years. Now, I’m excited to be here managing the Personal Shopper team at Rue La La!
RLL: What’s the most important factor you take into account when styling a Client?
AR: Proportions. Being petite, I’ve struggled with finding clothing that fits me right my whole life, so finding items that fit my Clients properly is my number one priority.
RLL: What do you love most about our Personal Shopper program?
AR: I love the ability to help people find things they love and feel good in.
