Work Out (& Give Back) with Westin

Rue La La is known for a lot of things, but we’re particularly proud of one: our commitment to giving back. Whether we’re volunteering at local schools, charities, and businesses or curating special boutiques that support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Rue is dedicated to paying it forward. So, when we found out that Westin® Hotels & Resorts recently partnered with a new app called Charity Miles, we had to find out more.

The app is simple: Every mile you log during a run, walk, or bike ride earns you money for one of over 40 world-class charities. And if you’re staying at a Westin, you can choose to have the hotel sponsor your charity earnings. Guests can also take advantage of custom Westin content in the app, aimed at travelers when they need it most. With tips and tricks to stay fit, inspirational podcasts, motivational badges, and social media filters, it’s a way to make working out while traveling a lot more fun. And for those of us who don’t always find time to make it to the gym (slowly raises hand), it’s great to know that when we use the app we are not only doing something good for ourselves, but we are also helping to make a difference for others.

Westin has always taken a 360° approach to well-being that goes well beyond just getting a good night’s sleep in the Westin Heavenly® Bed. From their Gear Lending program to their state-of-the-art WestinWORKOUT® Fitness Studios equipped with TRX training gear and Peloton bikes, they focus on creating an environment where guests can stay active and maintain their workout routines while traveling. Because let’s face it – being away from the comforts of home often means takeout and Netflix. At many Westin hotels, you can even find a special Run Concierge who takes individuals or groups on running tours through the best sites at each destination. Fitness AND philanthropy? Now that’s something we can run with.
