For the fourth year in a row, L.L.Bean has run out of its century-old standby, the Bean Boot. So if you were going for that rugged New England look this winter, you might need a new focus piece – or, at least, join the 50,000-person wait list.
What’s the holdup, you might ask? The brand hand-assembles this signature boot in its Brunswick, Maine, factory. And apparently, even 200 additional workers wasn’t enough to tackle the demand. Mental note for next year: Buy when it’s still flip-flop season.
