It was just this past February that Tommy Hilfiger said farewell to his two-year-long partnership with Gigi Hadid. Together, the duo presented four over-the-top fashion week blowouts complete with see now, buy now collections and boosted Hilfiger’s profile amongst that coveted millennial and Gen Z crowd.

Since then, Hilfiger announced Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton as his new brand ambassador. But it turns out that Hamilton isn’t alone in trying to fill Hadid’s shoes: On Tuesday, Tommy Hilfiger announced that Zendaya will be the label’s new women’s ambassador.

“I love to collaborate with people who are passionate about making their dreams a reality and who inspire the next generation to do the same,” said Tommy Hilfiger in a release. “Zendaya has become a global icon, using fashion to make bold statements while always staying true to herself. Our capsule collection will fuse her eclectic style with the Americana spirit of our brand.”

In her new role, Zendaya will collaborate with Hilfiger on a Tommy x Zendaya capsule collection and be featured in the brand’s global marketing campaigns starting in Spring 2019.

“Fashion is more than just wearing cool clothes,” Zendaya said in a release. “It’s a way to celebrate self-expression and individuality, which is extremely empowering. This is why I am proud to partner with Tommy Hilfiger.”

As to whether Tommy x Zendaya will produce the same kind of fashion show extravaganzas as Tommy x Gigi, we’ll just have to wait and see.
