Luther

Starring the super-suave Idris Elba (The Wire) as a maverick cop, this psychological crime drama follows John Luther, a detective chief inspector working for the Serious Crime Unit of the UK police. For Luther, the job always comes first, often at the expense of his personal life. Sometimes, the darkness just finds its way in.

The Bay

Cue the feels, because this one gets emotional. Family Liaison Officer Lisa Armstrong is assigned to a missing persons investigation, which at first seems routine – tragic, but commonplace. But this time is different, and Armstrong finds it hard not to get too close to the case.

Line of Duty

Catching criminals is one thing, but honing in on crooked cops – that’s a whole other story. This nail-biting series (coincidentally, also the UK’s most-watched drama of the 21st century) follows Anti-Corruption Unit AC-12 as they chase down their shady colleagues who know a thing or two about covering their own tracks. It’s what they do for a living, after all.

Grace

Based on the best-selling Peter James novels, this crime drama brings the books to life in a big way. Detective Roy Grace, played by John Simm (Life on Mars, Doctor Who), is haunted by the disappearance of his wife and has a reputation for, shall we say, interesting methods to get to the truth. Grace is full of twists and turns as the detective races against time to solve a missing persons case.
