Keep Summer Sunsets Alive via Fall Fashion

Last evening, trusty folding chairs in tow, my dad and I made our way down to the beach for one of summer’s final sunsets. While the sight (pictured above) certainly inspired awe, it also inspired thoughts surrounding a future wardrobe (that blend of pink and orange would make a great skinny jean). Cue sudden realization: while summer’s show-stopping sunsets may be slowly drawing to a close, their rich hues can be immortalized via fashion in the off season.

Fall is a perfectly appropriate time to integrate touches of yellow – and a scarf is the first opportunity that comes to mind. Opt for a hue that’s more golden than buttercup, then pair endlessly with more muted neutrals.

A shirtdress in burnt orange, like that of changing leaves, would be ideal for fall. Just cinch the waist with a tan leather belt, then pile on the gold baubles.

Pink is always in season when it comes to polished nails. Swap out your beach-ready neon for a shade a tad softer (like Essie’s “Ballet Slippers”).

You’re in luck: Pantone has already declared purple as trending this fall. So wear it with abandon.

Just as an almost-night sky plays host to its vibrant sunset, look to navy as a foundation for the above shades, and you can’t go wrong.
