We love watching these ladies on TV – and now, they’re being honored with nominations at tonight’s big awards show. While Empire’s Cookie Lyon and The Americans’s Elizabeth Jennings are on opposite sides of the fashion spectrum, they’re both serious power dressers. In the spirit of competition, we’re facing them off in a style showdown. Read on, then choose who you think does it best.

Name: Cookie Lyon
M.O.: Mom. Boss. Music-producer mastermind. Parolee.
Signature style: Her walk-in closet is filled with pieces that are loud, just like her. Animal print and faux fur, anyone? But this season, her flashy aesthetic evolves beyond her trademark bling into tamer separates, tailored blazers, and, yes, even denim.
Get the look: Layer faux fur over a fitted sheath and finish with embellished metallic accessories. Incorporate a bold print or bright color (preferably both) to really get it right. Attitude is everything when it comes to Cookie, so don’t forget to bring the sass.

Name: Elizabeth Jennings (a.k.a. Nadezhda)
M.O.: Mom. Wife. Travel agent. Soviet spy.
Signature style: Staying covert in her 80s-suburban-mom identity means a conservative and practical look. Think tailored separates with a retro twist – geometric-patterned sweaters, silky blouses, and high-waisted bottoms. But when she goes undercover, it’s anybody’s guess. And for those midnight missions? A dark leather jacket, of course.
Get the look: To emulate this spy’s everyday style, wear a sweater-and-silk-top combo with high-waisted jeans. Define your waist with a skinny belt and layer a menswear-inspired wool coat on top. Delicate gold hoops and stacked heels keep you on-the-run-ready.
