The Easiest Updo to Try with Second-Day Hair

You already know it’s healthier for your hair to scale back on daily shampooing. But what the hell are you supposed to do with second-day (or even third-day) strands? The answer: an updo. Because that natural day-two texture actually gives your hair more hold than usual. Here’s how to take full advantage of that extra grit.

Step 1: Give the ends of your hair a boost with a texture spray, like this one from Ouai.

Step 2: Separate your hair into two equal sections and tightly twist them around one another. Leave a section of hair loose at the bottom.

Step 3: Wrap your twisted strands into a bun, but keep the loose ends untucked. Secure everything in place with bobby pins. Thanks to all that texture, not a strand will budge.
