Move Over, Meghan & Kate: Queen Maxima of the Netherlands Is the Newest Royal Style Icon to Watch

PureWow

Talk about a Maxx-inista: Queen Maxima of the Netherlands has a royal style all her own (except we’re betting she’s never stepped foot in a TJ Maxx). And while we’re big fans of Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s (and even Lady Amelia Windsor’s) fashionable wardrobes, we’re loving Her Majesty Maxima’s penchant for wide-brimmed hats, embellished coats and resort wear. Here, nine of our favorite looks.

One of many wide-brimmed hats the Queen has worn that work for royal events just as well as on vacation.

And you thought the Duchess of Sussex rocked a cape dress best, didn’t you?

Wearing Dutch designer Claes Iversen, Queen Maxima arrives in Nuremberg, Germany, looking like a modern-day (and slightly more edgy) Jackie O.

NBD, just a golden goddess queen in all her beauty. (Also, we were seriously mistaken in believing you can’t have a gorgeous tan glow if you live in the Netherlands).

So what if she blended in with the red carpet? Her one-shouldered pantsuit stole the show.

Normally we’d say too much ruffle, but we’re loving the Barbra-Streisand-in-Meet-the-Fockers vibes.

And little did we know she was the inspo for Beyoncé’s “Lemonade”…

Plaid and velvet? Why the hell not?

We repeat: Wide. Brimmed. Hats. (Also: Summer outfit research is complete.)
