They booked the holy grail of modeling jobs.
It’s that time of year again when a new class of Victoria’s Secret Angels gets its wings. Details of the glittery catwalk are still shrouded in secrecy, but more than 50 models have already been confirmed to walk. And of the bunch booked, 18 will strut in sparkly underwear in front of millions of viewers for the very first time.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is, for many, considered the pinnacle of modeling jobs and a career game-changer: It has the ability to turn an unknown face into a supermodel practically overnight. Plus, who doesn’t want to rub shoulders (or wings) with industry icons like Adriana Lima?
The new crew for 2018 features the first Filipina model to ever walk in the show, and overall, it’s a relatively diverse group. Over the past few days, models have taken to social media to share heartwarming posts about how it feels to secure a spot in the show for the first time. Winnie Harlow, for example, didn’t make the cut last year, but was thrilled to announce that she’d made it this time around: “Thank you mommy for praying with me everyday for the past 3 days,” Harlow wrote in an Instagram caption. “And thank you so much to my fans who have been pushing me forward to this point in my career. I’m so blessed thank you Lord!! IM WALKING THE VICTORIA’S SECRET SHOW!”
