The Banana Bun

Ladies, we have a solution for dirty hair: The super-trendy banana bun. Divide your hair into three sections and secure the middle section with an elastic. From there, wrap the right section over the middle and twist the two together. Then tuck the left section underneath and pin it all up – or don’t. This is one situation where messy is good. (Watch how to do it here.)

The No-Blow Beachy Look

Spritz Bumble & Bumble Surf Infusion onto damp hair, scrunch to build texture, and let air-dry. Or use Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray as an alternative to dry shampoo. Then say you just came back from an early-morning surf at Ocean Beach. You’ll earn instant cool cred.

The Half-Up Twist

Nineties styles have been creeping back into our lives the past couple of years, and finally, they’ve found their way up to our hair. To create this look, grab a three-inch-wide section of hair from one temple and tease slightly for texture and volume. Divide the section in half and twist the two halves around each other. Repeat with a section of hair from the other temple and secure the two sides together in the back with a rubber band. Consider it the perfectly pretty complement to this season’s off-the-shoulder tops.

The Messy Pull-Through Ponytail

Looks complicated? We promise – no infomercial gadgets were harmed in the making of this style. Simply pull your hair into a loose low pony, and then pull it through the top (above your hair tie). Tease it a bit and you’re ready for work.

Mini Braids

The key to rocking mini braids without looking like you’re back in grade school is to stick to a single plait (or maybe two) and keep the rest of your hair simple. Think of the braid as an accent to your style and not the style itself.
