L’Oreal Is Rethinking Skincare in a Big Way

When you think L’Oreal, eye shadow, hair spray, and moisturizer probably come to mind. But the beauty giant has something else up its sleeve (well, maybe not up its sleeve, but definitely on its hand). Meet My UV Patch, a piece of wearable tech that tracks sun exposure to fine-tune your preventative skincare routine.

How does it work? Simply apply the ultra-thin sticker to your skin and go about your normal business. As it collects information, the sensor changes colors and can be analyzed through a phone app. Pretty cool stuff (your dermatologist would likely agree).

Though there aren’t solid launch plans yet, L’Oreal does intend to release it later this year.
