In the new film Jackie, Natalie Portman portrays the former First Lady with such a likeness that we’re predicting a Jackie O. fashion takeover. Known for her pillbox hats, oversized dark sunglasses, and range of chic sheaths and tweeds, the modern Camelot icon oozed sophistication and elegance. Below, we’re paying homage to the real Jackie’s style with two of her most signature looks as First Lady.
The Pink Tweed Suit
This Chanel reproduction was JFK’s favorite look of Jackie’s. Although she had it on on the day he was assassinated, she had also worn it at least six times before then. Today, the outfit is in the careful hands of the National Archives.
The Red White House Tour Dress
Jackie O. snagged an Emmy award when millions of viewers tuned in to her CBS special tour of the newly restored White House. For her TV debut, she donned a two-piece deep red dress (said to be a Christian Dior recreation) with a bateau neckline, worn with a multilayer pearl necklace.
