If there’s anything that can lure people out of the house in the middle of winter, it’s the promise of home cooking served up with a side of good company. And if this hot and savory app from Le Creuset doesn’t make you pull on those snow boots, we don’t know what will. Whip it up and get the party started.
ITALIAN FONDUE CHEESE DIP
Cook time: Under 30 minutes. Yields: 10-plus servings.
Ingredients
2 strips thick-sliced bacon
8 ounces Gorgonzola cheese, freshly crumbled
8 ounces Fontina cheese, freshly grated
1½ tablespoons stone-ground mustard
3 sprigs fresh tarragon
Freshly cracked black pepper
Directions
1. In a skillet, cook the bacon strips until crisp. Set aside.
2. Combine the cheeses in a Camembert Baker. Place in the oven under the broiler until the cheeses are bubbly and browned around the edges.
3. Once the cheeses are melted, crumble the bacon and sprinkle on top of the fondue.
4. Dot the mustard on top of the fondue, and finish with black pepper and leaves of tarragon.
