Follow These 2 Rules for Royal Family–Approved Style

Six years ago today, Will and Kate exchanged their wedding vows at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. Since that historic day, the pair has been snapped traveling the globe, donating their time to multiple charitable causes, and raising Prince George and Princess Charlotte (who are just about the cutest kids we’ve ever seen). And, they’ve done it all while ruling the fashion scene. Want to look as picture-perfect as this royal family of four? Just follow these two simple rules.

Coordinate, but Don’t Match

Being too matchy-matchy is a thing of the past. Take their cue and coordinate your colors without being too literal. White and blue, even in different tones, pull everything together for a cohesive family photo.

Stick to the Classics

We all love testing out trends, but you won’t find the royal clan sporting them for special occasions. Stick to fitted sheaths or simple fit-and-flare silhouettes for photo ops. Dress your guy in a gentleman-approved navy suit and half-zip sweater. For the kiddos, stick to sweetly embroidered frocks and aww-inducing details, like those signature knee-high socks.
