This post is definitely one of my all-time faves for several reasons – the biggest of them being that I finally got my dear husband and photographer Anush to join me for our first ever “his and hers” style post on the blog! Only took two years of convincing.
More often than not, we’re always twinning with our outfits, especially denim and a similar colored tee, so it only seemed fitting that our first post together was a denim style post with our favorite denim brand DSTLD. One thing I have learned over the years is not to fall prey to trends that don’t suit you but to find your niche and stick to it. Even if it’s just jeans and a hoodie, no problem – the most important thing is to be confident and comfortable in what you wear, and that’s the key to looking effortlessly chic always! Personally, for both of us, denim and a comfy tee is our all-time fave outfit, and although jeans are the most common and popular type of clothing, when it comes to picking the right pair, not many pay too much attention to the importance of the style, fit, and quality. I cant stress enough on how quality and fit matters so much, especially for something that is going to get so much wear.
Anush epitomizes the typical Bay Area techie fashion scene – he loves his jeans, a tee, and a hoodie. He opted for a skinny dark wash with a dark grey round-neck tee – simple basics done so right. Their tees are ultrasoft and super comfy. This one is slim cut and is pigment dyed to give it a lived-in kinda look. It is the perfect juxtaposition of casual and edgy style, and with only $20 a piece, it is such a steal! He finished off the look with his fave grey high-tops.
While I do love my jeans, I am a shorts girl all the way! This is my first pair of denim shorts from the DSTLD brand, and I am obsessed with the incredible fit! Well-fitted clothing is so much more stylish and flattering, don’t you think? I paired it with a slouchy grey tank and cutout booties. I love the low-cut arm holes and the sexy slinky drape of this tank. I am thinking of getting this basic top in all the colors!
