4 Fashion Lessons Inspired by ‘The Boss’

He may be a veteran, but there’s still a lot to learn from music legend Bruce Springsteen. Matching his clothes to his lyrical themes of working-class America, he’s rocked a signature laid-back uniform since he first hit the stage decades ago. So in honor of National Boss Day, we’re celebrating this superstar’s style. Here are four fashion lessons we’ve learned from The Boss.

1. Leather always looks cool.
True to rockstar form, The Boss is known for the iconic leather jacket. Wear it fitted and with the collar up, just like him.

2. The more denim, the better.
Jeans are a must. And he still remains committed to wearing layers of denim. Go for the same head-to-toe look – it’s right on-trend.

3. Always start with a T-shirt.
By T-shirt, we mean undershirt, but either way, it’s key. Regardless of what you wear on top – a leather jacket, blazer, vest, or button-up – rock a simple tee underneath.

4. Blazers and vests aren’t only for the white-collar crew.
He rocks tailored jackets on stage with his go-to denim, but he keeps it real with rolled-up sleeves and a loosened tie. Try the same look for your next night out (with or without the tie).
