Damsel In Dior | Jacey Duprie
Part of my job is to feature the latest and greatest of fashion, interiors, travel, and other topical interests in a way that beautifully and naturally integrates with my life. Ironically enough, sometimes the most obvious people and brands that I should be featuring, the people closest to me in my life, get overlooked. Which is absolute madness, because there is no person in my life that I can think of who has impressed me more, succeeded beyond expectation, all while keeping his creative integrity since the day I met him over six years ago. My neighbor, my dear friend: Gray Malin.
I met Gray shortly after our small businesses started to pick up. It was perfect timing for us to bounce ideas and inspiration off one another as we both work in a creative space, yet in separate industries. Ever since meeting this spirited and inspiring person, I’ve been collecting his pieces. We were introduced by a mutual friend and immediately bonded over our love of travel, thinking “big picture,” and our taste in good champagne and all things fabulous.
Gray Malin is the type of person who radiates imagination, alacrity, and originality. It has been such a pleasure to witness Gray brainstorm a fantastic idea, such as shooting a giraffe at the Parker in Palm Springs, and then months later watch him execute it. His brand is very easy for me to connect with because it emulates happiness and the idea that every day can be an adventure.
I’ve purchased Gray Malin prints, received them as gifts from Gray himself, and even stolen “damaged” prints from his garage because it broke my heart to see them get thrown away. And no matter what way, shape, or form Gray’s talented prints have entered my life, I truly treasure each and every one.
I wanted to give credit where credit is due and share with you one of the most talented people that I know. In a world that can sometimes be scary, dark, and difficult, Gray Malin’s work reminds us that there are surprises around every corner of laughter and light.
