Cool Cocktails: DIY Flavored Ice Cubes

Whether you’re throwing a fancy cocktail party or just want to make your glasses of water a little less boring, these flavored ice cubes give drinks a fun (and tasty) twist.

Blueberry Champagne Sparklers
Inspired by our copy team’s bubbly bar, these little treats are fit for a summer soirée. Fill ice cube trays with a light wine spritzer (or sparkling cider for a non-boozy refresher) and blueberries for seriously cute cocktails. Insider tip: make sure the alcohol content is lower than 11%, or they won’t freeze very well.

Coffee Cubes
Let me be the first to say that this is pure brilliance. Everyone hates watery iced coffee! (And mine always ends up that way because I am a notoriously slow coffee drinker.) But with ice cubes made of coffee, I’ll never have to worry about watered-down brews again.

Citrus Cubes
Fill muffin tins with lemonade and slices of lemon, then freeze for instant mini punch cups.

Fruity Refreshers
I love that ice cubes can be made with virtually anything. Take advantage of seasonal fruits (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries – you name it) by freezing them in water. Add some little sprigs of mint if you’re feeling extra daring.

Iced Chocolate
Oh. My. Goodness. This is like Fudgiscles and chocolate milk in one delicious frozen concoction. Over cold milk, chocolate milk, or ice cream – who cares? It’s dessert in a glass, and that’s always a good idea.
