Blogger Bites: Must-Try Recipes from Spoon Fork Bacon, Cup of Jo, & Joy The Baker

When we actually have some free time, all of sudden cooking transforms from a daily task to a relaxing (and fruitful) hobby. So this weekend, we’re setting some time aside to indulge our culinary side. For three buzzed-about recipes, we turned to the Spoon Fork BaconA Cup of Jo, and Joy The Baker.

Jalapeno Cheddar Spoon Bread: Spoon Fork Bacon can do no wrong. Everything they post is beautifully styled, looks absolutely mouthwatering, and is easy to make (thank you!). This Jalapeno Cheddar Spoon Bread is no exception. The inspiration behind the deliciousness?

It’s really awesome when two great things come together into one. For instance, R2D2 and C3PO, Harry Potter and magic, bread and butter, and corn and spoon bread. So, I give you: jalapeño cheddar spoon bread!

Chocolate Chunk Cookies: It’s nearly impossible to ignore a post titled: The Best Chocolate Chunk Cookies You’ll Ever Have. And knowing how amazing Joanna Goddard’s taste is – and apparently her weakness for this classic – we don’t doubt it at all

Everyone has that one food that they cannot resist, don’t you agree? If you set a plate of warm chocolate-chip cookies in front of me, I will literally not be able to stop my hand from reaching out and taking one. So, the recipe I’ve been waiting to perfect my whole life is for the best chocolate chip cookies, hands down. Well, today, Aran from Cannelle et Vanille shares her recipe (complete with two secret ingredients!)

French Onion Soup Sandwiches: It’s a soup – in a sandwich. How can you not try that? The ever-lovable and ingenious Joy The Baker provides a recipe that we’re proclaiming as the ideal weekend lunch.

This sandwich is magic.  Caramelized onions turn into, what some might consider, candy.  The beef broth and fresh thyme bring out the comforting soup-esque flavors in the onions… and combined with toasted bread and gruyere… it’s totally the most portable French Onion Soup ever.
