Lights, camera, Big Little Lies.
Reese Witherspoon announced that the hit HBO series will commence filming season two this Friday, March 16, and we’re in a glass cage of (excited) emotion.
The A Wrinkle in Time star visited Seth Meyers on Late Night and dished on the BLL filming schedule, saying, “So, y’all, we’re starting next Friday on Big Little Lies 2, I can’t believe it. Not only do we have every cast member coming back, but also Meryl Streep is joining us.” Hold up. Does that mean Alexander Skarsgård is coming back to haunt us as Perry?
The Draper James founder also revealed what it felt like when Queen Streep signed on to play Perry’s mom, Mary Louise Wright. Witherspoon said, “Well, she sent an email to Nicole [Kidman] and I and it said, ‘Okay, I read the part and I love it and I’m going to do it.’ And I, like, dropped the phone, like mic drop, but I phone dropped. And then I called Nicole and I was like, ‘Is this real life? Is this really happening?’ And then I got off the phone with Nicole and I, like, hugged myself gently for a minute and said, ‘This is really happening. You’re really working with Meryl Streep.’”
BRB: We’re heading to Monterey in case they need extras or an on-site tutor for Amabella. We’re versatile.
