‘Big Little Lies’ Season 2 Has Officially Wrapped, & We Have the Photos to Prove It

Don’t get too excited: We still have to wait till 2019 before the premiere of season two of HBO’s Big Little Lies. But we have more reason than ever to look forward to its return, because the cast just shared photos paying tribute to BLL, which just wrapped filming last week.

Case in point: Reese Witherspoon’s photo montage of the cast, including the caption: “Feeling so grateful to my #BigLittleLies family on our last day of shooting Season 2! You have all inspired me, supported me, made me laugh & cry. Making the second season even more exciting than the last (I can’t wait for y’all to see it!!) Thank you @HBO and our amazing Director Andrea Arnold! Big love to my sisters @nicolekidman @lauradern @shailenewoodley @zoeisabellakravitz and #MerylStreep.”

Nicole Kidman shared a photo of herself wearing a sweatshirt with the BLL leading ladies character names listed on the front (and possibly a play on words with “lie” at the end of Madeline?). If that’s not #MontereyMomGoals, we don’t know what is.

She wrote: “That’s a wrap on #BigLittleLies Season 2 filming! What a beautiful journey this has been with my Monterey 5 sisters and our passionate dedicated crew. Thank you HBO for the amazing opportunity and thank you Andrea Arnold for being our fearless leader, and of course the one and only Meryl Streep for believing in us. I love you all. xx.”

And, finally, Laura Dern (a.k.a. Renata) gave a special shout-out to season two director Andrea Arnold: “Andrea Arnold. Wrapping our Big Little Lies journey today. Loving you and my tribe of sisters. @nicolekidman @reesewitherspoon @zoeisabellakravitz @shailenewoodley #merylstreep #BLL.”

But let’s not forget this gem taken from the set of BLL season two, which features Witherspoon as Madeline Mackenzie hurling an ice cream cone at the head of Celeste’s MIL Mary Louise (Meryl Streep), which Witherspoon said was one of the “top five moments of my career.” All we have to say is: same.

Counting down the days.
