The Inspiration: Karl Lagerfeld took the ladylike look to new heights after Chanel’s café-themed show, inspired by Coco’s love of the Parisian brassiere.

The Inspiration: Now that designers are able to visit Cuba, the landscape’s hothouse colors and prints have inspired the runways in a major way.

Military Tactics
The Inspiration: Major fashion houses (Marc Jacobs, Gucci, and Rodarte, to name a few) reinterpreted camo styles of years passed with muted palettes and tailored silhouettes.
Key Items: Army green and khaki everything, exposed zippers, and oversized buttons.

The Inspiration: This decade’s far-out feeling has been trending for a few seasons (and it’s staying alive).

Heritage Days
The Inspiration: Two words – Ralph Lauren. He knows how to modernize the classics, as told by his Fall 2015 collection, which mixes an English countryside vibe with updated accessories.
Key Items: Tweed jackets, wool fedoras, and faux-fur accents.
