The Best-Dressed List: Our Fashion Editor’s Picks for May

We can all agree that there was no shortage of amazing style moments this month (so far). But our fashion editor’s favorite looks range from ladylike outfits worn with edge to red carpet dresses with a fresh take on trends. Below, check out Kasey’s five must-see looks for May. Permission to recreate each and every one: granted.

Priyanka Chopra

IMHO, May’s best-dressed award goes to this uber-talented actress. The onetime Miss World, Bollywood star, leading lady of the ABC show Quantico, and part of the highly anticipated new Baywatch ensemble has been killing it style-wise lately – both on the red carpet and off. Get her quirky-meets-haute couture look with a blinged-out midi and leather jacket combo.

Zendaya

I love how this 20-year-old skipped the traditional naked-dress route in favor of the sheer trend on the red carpet. She stunned in an ethereal Zuhair Murad creation that was equally ladylike and cool. Plus, I give her major points for pulling off this tricky-to-wear shade of green. Follow her lead and opt for a double dose of trends for your next event – something sheer in an on-trend hue.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead

The Fargo actress charmed in this Christopher Bu Fall 2016 outfit, expertly embracing a vintage sensibility with a nod to mod. Prove style is all in the details with a watercolor tulip top and floral buttons that give off a definitive retro vibe. Bold gemstone earrings and embellished shoes complete the granny-chic look.

4. Elle Fanning

This chic take on airport style is giving me all the feels. On her way to the Cannes Film Festival, this month’s Vogue cover girl rocked a sweet 50s-inspired look in an effortless way. Pay homage to the voluminous-sleeve trend by pairing a ladylike blouse with mom jeans and mega-watt cat-eye shades.

5. Kate Bosworth

Who says velvet isn’t spring-appropriate? I love how the corseted detail of the dress and matching choker givesoff a Parisian-chic vibe. The lesson to learn here: Wear what you love whenever you feel like wearing it. Rules are meant to be broken, especially when it comes to fashion.
