Five-Minute Powwow: Blogger Anh Sundstrom

It’s no secret that we have something of an obsession with Anh Sundstrom and her workplace-friendly yet utterly chic style sensibility. So when she agreed to style our Tibi Boutique, we were appropriately thrilled. Here, we sit down with Anh to talk about her experience crafting the looks in this Boutique (as well as some fun, personal tidbits).

Rue La La:
So let us pick your brain – what approach did you take for styling this Boutique?
Anh: Given the amazing (and fabulously work-appropriate) pieces in this Boutique, styling it was all too easy. I wanted to share exactly how I’d integrate the pieces into my own wardrobe with outfits I’d be thrilled to wear right now. The difficulty was deciding exactly which outfits I wanted to share because all of these pieces are so versatile.

Rue La La: Tibi is all about style that looks totally effortless. Is this a philosophy you draw from in your day-to-day?
Anh: This is exactly why I love Tibi! Looking effortless should always be the goal – you never want to look like you’ve forced a certain look or style.

Rue La La: Your blog centers around chic workplace style. Were there any pieces in this Boutique that you could see making a seamless transition from day to night?
Anh: My favorite day-to-night piece would have to be the grey boxy top. I styled it for day with the cropped trousers but could just as easily transition it for night by pairing it with a flirty pleated skirt.

Rue La La: Can you see any pieces making their way into your regular rotation?
Anh: Too many! Is it 8AM PT yet?! I need to add the grey top and grey cropped trousers to my shopping cart ASAP. And I don’t think I’ll be stopping there…

Rue La La: This Boutique has some great wide-leg pants. Do you have any pointers for those who might be intimidated to try this style out?
Anh: It’s all about balancing the proportions – if you’re going to wear a wide-leg pant, avoid an equally loose top. I like pairing them with fitted blouses or sweaters.

Our Tibi Boutique is now open.
