The Sparkle in Your Eye? It Might Be This Giant Diamond

The second-largest diamond in the world? It just weighed in at 1,111 carats. Yes, you read that correctly. Unearthed in Botswana’s Karowe mine, this impressive stone is the most sizable find in more than a century.

Its bigger sibling, a 3,106-carat Cullinan diamond found in South Africa in 1905, was cut into several pieces – many of which are part of the British Crown Jewels. Here’s hoping this latest discovery enjoys as legendary a fate.
