5 Beauty Looks Margot Robbie Always Wears – & No One Has Noticed

Refinery29 | Megan Decker

With her dramatic transformations for Suicide Squad and I, Tonya, Margot Robbie has already established herself as the ultimate Hollywood beauty chameleon. And offscreen, the Australian actress takes just as many hair and makeup risks, translating bright yellow eyeshadow and chunky glitter into unforgettable red carpet looks that somehow appear totally effortless.

In honor of the star’s 28th birthday, we’re rolling through a few of Robbie’s most iconic appearances to narrow down exactly what makeup artist Pati Dubroff and hairstylist Bryce Scarlett do to keep her looking so good. Check out the top five tips we’re stealing from the star, ahead.

Pink Blush

No matter the occasion or what the rest of her makeup looks like, the actress almost always has a rosy pink flush on her cheeks. For the world premiere of Goodbye Christopher Robin, Dubroff layered yellow shadow over Robbie’s lids, but still kept some pink in her complexion to balance out the bold color.

Natural Lashes
Regardless of what eyeshadow shade she wears (and she wears a lot), Robbie’s lashes are typically feathery and natural as opposed to super long and dramatic. This keeps even the boldest looks feeling romantic and soft, and never severe. At this year’s Academy Awards, her team kept her makeup look simple to showcase the actress’s delicate Chanel gown and sharp shoulder-grazing bob.

Match-Matchy Makeup

Matching your hair color to your eyeshadow has been a big trend in Hollywood, but Robbie likes to make her matchy makeup more of a sartorial statement, often pulling her shadow and liner shade straight from her outfit. Here, at the UK Premiere of I,Tonya, Dubroff gave Robbie a bright white shadow to match the sequins in her gown.

Strategic Parting
An ode to old Hollywood glam, Scarlett almost always parts Robbie’s hair to one side. Paired with a sleek blowout or glossy waves, it shows off her killer bone structure every time. For looser textured looks, they tend to go with a soft center part.

Demi-Matte Lips
If you have an eye for subtle details, you might have noticed that Robbie’s lipstick always strikes the perfect balance between glossy and matte. For the SAG Awards, Dubroff told Allure that she layered a lipstick (Chanel’s Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Rouge Angélique) with a dab of gloss (Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss in Noce Moscata) to get the effect.
