Courtney Cachet

If your summer plans include jetting to Europe for a glam weekend, your packing list has got to be fabulous, too. As my French father always taught me, bring quality classics that will look chic and elegant wherever your trip takes you. With these ten key pieces, you’re well on your way to a stylish time across the pond.

1. Simple Tote
My number-one rule? Go for a neutral shade that will look appropriate with every vacation outfit.

2. Printed Scarf
There are few accessories that give you more bang for your buck than a lightweight scarf. Wear it with jeans and a tank, or tie it onto your purse for a quick pop of personality.

3. Bright Flats
Flats are cute with most outfits, but in a bright shade (think: red or pink) they punch up any old outfit for a busy day of shopping or sightseeing.

4. Classic LBD
The little black dress is one of those key pieces that can be worn countless ways throughout a weekend: with flats and a jean jacket for afternoon shopping, with strappy stilettos for dinner, or with a sparkly clutch for a night on the town.

5. Statement Earrings
Head-turning earrings add a touch of luxe to every ensemble – plus, they’re easy to travel with. Have fun with them. They’re meant to be noticed.

6. Mini Shoulder Bag
Use your tote for casual daytime outfits, but turn up the heat at night with a hands-free mini purse.

7. Sky-High Heels
European women wear heels with everything. Rather than load up your bag with tons of shoes you won’t wear, pack one amazing pair that will work with your entire wardrobe.

8. Off-the-Shoulder Top
Flattering on any body shape, this sultry-meets-elegant top is a must-have for spontaneous plans. Add a little bronzer to your shoulders for a sun-kissed glow.

9. Facial Moisturizer
Traveling to Europe for a quick getaway can wreak havoc on your skin. Make sure you pack a good moisturizer so you look fresh and rested upon arrival.

10. Jeans
They’re wearable every day – at home and abroad. Pack a pair of skinnies that work equally well with heels and flats for the most versatility.
